Nice To Meet You

There is a version of this bio that lists the degrees, titles, and accolades, and those are real and earned. But they are not what drives her.

Dr. Sherry Rochell is a teacher, an author, a minister, and a speaker. More than any of those labels, she is a woman who believes deeply that every person she encounters is capable of more than they have yet discovered, and she has built her entire life's work around helping them find it.

HER STORY

Dr. Sherry's journey into education began as it does for many, with a calling that felt less like a career choice and more like a conviction. Over the years in the classroom, she discovered that the greatest barrier most teachers face is not curriculum or policy; it is the slow erosion of the belief that they belong there. That discovery became the seed of everything she would later write and teach.

Her work as an 8th grade educator at Meadowbrook Middle School in Fort Worth ISD keeps her grounded in the daily realities of the classroom. She does not write about teaching from memory. She writes about it from Monday morning.

In 2024, that same passion for developing people led her to found Harmony Empowerment Institute, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Fort Worth, Texas, dedicated to empowering learners and leaders across the community. What began as a vision for education expanded into a mission: to meet people where they are and equip them to go further.

Her faith has been the through-line through all of it. As a Christian minister and ordained speaker, Dr. Sherry has stood before congregations, women's conferences, and retreat audiences to deliver a message born not from theology alone, but from experience: God is still good; even when His answer is not the one you asked for.

She is the author of multiple books spanning the worlds of education, faith, and leadership, including You Belong in the Classroom, God Is Still Good, The Refrigerator Door Is Open, and Live Out Loud Do-Votional. Each title shares the same DNA: practical, honest, rooted in real life, and written for readers ready to move.
